Ajapa Jap : God's Chanting without Chanting
Jap means repeating or remembering a mantra. Ajapa means The letter A in front of the word jap means without. So Ajapa jap means recitation of name of God, without uttering the words by the mouth. In this process we don't chant Naam explicitly, rather it continuous implicitly in our subconscious mind. Chanting consciously could bring ego however when it happens automatically in our subconscious mind, there is no place for ego to appear. Let's take an example: How does a mother take care of her baby? Does caring for a baby means chanting/calling the baby's name continuously? No! Every action taken by the mother is for the care of the baby and the reason behind this is "The baby is in the heart of the mother" Similarly we do not have to chant God's name explicitly. When we are connected to GOD then we experience his presence within us in the form of external Joy.
